UberDropbox and the Golden State Warriors may be moving into San Francisco’s Mission Bay, but one biotech company is moving out. Illumina will leave Mission Bay and head south to a new campus in Foster City, the San Francisco Business Times reports. The campus will allow the biotech company to consolidate its Bay Area operations and allow its accelerator program to serve more startups.

While biotech tenants such as Bayer Healthcare, Nektar Therapeutics and FibroGen still dominate Mission Bay, which includes the University of California, San Francisco, tech companies Uber and Dropbox are renting entire buildings in the neighborhood.

Illumina previously leased the entire 360K SF Lincoln Centre in Foster City, which is being developed by BioMed Realty. The biotech company also has the option to expand its lease into a third 160K SF building. Illumina originally said it would maintain its 150K SF facility in Mission Bay, but it has now subleased about 97K SF to UCSF.

The San Diego-based company will have 400 employees in Foster City. It plans to retain its manufacturing facility in Hayward. It leases over 800K SF from BioMed Realty in San Diego, Foster City and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
