More multifamily housing is coming to the Bay Area. SummerHill Apartment Communities just completed 481 on Mathilda, a 105-unit luxury apartment complex, this month in Sunnyvale and has over 1,000 units planned for the Bay Area. The developer will also complete the 186-unit Villas on the Boulevard in Santa Clara early next year.

“Our goal is to produce high-quality housing located near jobs, transportation and existing services so our residents can enjoy a convenient and satisfying live/work/play lifestyle,” SummerHill Housing Group CEO Robert Freed said. Robert is above left with Sunnyvale Vice Mayor Gustav Larsson during the 481 on Mathilda celebration.

SummerHill has also completed several projects totaling 634 units, including Domus on the Boulevard in Mountain View, The Lane on the Boulevard in Redwood City and Brio in Walnut Creek.

Next year, the developer will break ground on four additional communities in California, including 290 apartments and condos in Burlingame, 720 units and 36k SF of retail near the new Milpitas BART station, a 251-unit complex near Lawrence Caltrain station in Santa Clara and 105 units in Pasadena. Additionally, the developer is working on a 153-unit complex in Seattle.

The recently completed 481 on Mathilda (rendering above) offers a fitness room, a clubroom with entertaining kitchen, and a resident conference room. A central courtyard includes an outdoor cooking area and fire pit, green space for recreation, and an outdoor living room with fireplace and reflecting fountain. There is also a pet salon, a conference room, on-site parking and WiFi throughout the community.

The complex has studios through two-bedroom apartments with washers/dryers, stone countertops, gourmet kitchens, modern cabinetry, wood-finished flooring, private balconies, storage and private entryways. The transit-oriented complex is near Sunnyvale Caltrain and several VTA lines, retail and entertainment.
