City Of Oakland Plans To Sell Last Major Parcel For Downtown Development

Placeholder

Oakland wants developers for a 44,431 SF parcel (now a parking lot) at 1800 San Pablo Ave—the last major downtown parcel the city plans to sell.

The city plans to issue an RFP for the property, which is two blocks from Uptown Station, Uber's new home. The request will likely follow the city council's decision on who will develop 1911 Telegraph Ave and East 12th Street near Lake Merritt, city development manager Patrick Lane tells the San Francisco Business Times. The city council could decide on those sites in March.

The site is zoned for up to around 500 units and would likely have an affordable housing requirement. Sunfield Development had previously submitted a plan to build 250 units on the property, but that deal didn't move forward. [SFBT]
