Marin General Hospital Begins $535M Expansion

Work will begin this week on the planned $535M expansion of Marin General Hospital after years of planning.

Greenbrae public district hospital CEO Lee Domanico, who heads the project, told the San Francisco Business Times the groundbreaking was part of a larger strategic shift to build and modernize the hospital’s facilities. Hospital renovations and upgrades are a hot market right now.

While voters approved $394M in bond financing in late 2013, the hospital stills needs $141M to complete all phases of construction. Domanico said philanthropic money or additional bonds could plug the gap. [SFBT]
