The AASEG purchased half of the Coliseum in 2024 for $105M and has been in the final stages of acquiring the rest from the city of Oakland. The group has plans to invest $5B into the former home of the MLB's A’s, which will start playing in Las Vegas in 2028. Until then, the former Oakland team will play in Sacramento, California.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[A record amount of office space hit the market in Oakland as some of the city’s biggest employers opt for the suburbs despite a decline in crime.Oakland office vacancy nearly tripled from the third quarter of 2019 to Q3 2024, reaching 29.1%, according to a new report by JLL. Hybrid work has had a “destabilizing effect” on the city's office market, JLL Senior Research Director Alexander Quinn said in an email. 
Part of that destabilization is the departure of several of the city's staid corporate citizens, like Kaiser Permanente, which decamped to Pleasanton in February 2023, taking 1,200 jobs with it. ]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[The Oakland City Council plans to vote next month on the potential sale of the former Oakland Raiders training facility in Alameda County to a group that includes locally based industrial giant Prologis.
The facility at 1150 and 1120 Harbor Bay Parkway in Alameda would be sold for $24M on the condition that it be leased to Oakland Pro Soccer LLC, which owns the Oakland Roots and Soul soccer teams, a city council agenda report states.
The news was first reported by CoStar.

The site is the current location of AB&I Foundry, a scrap metal company that announced its plans in March to relocate to Tyler, Texas. The scrap metal business has been at this location since its founding in 1906. It plans to shut its doors in Oakland in the first half of 2023.

The 23.9-acre site is in Oakland’s Fruitvale district. Ohio-based Owens-Brockway Glass Container Inc. sold the property for north of $1.4M per acre. 
The sale, reported by East Bay Times, comes about two months after Duke filed a proposal to redevelop the site at 3600 Alameda Ave. As first reported by SFYIMBY, Duke is planning a nearly 428K SF warehouse, including 40K SF of office space, 284 parking spaces and 254 parking stalls for trucks.

<content:encoded><![CDATA[Several Oakland retail submarkets are well on their way to recovery from the coronavirus pandemic based on a Q4 2020 report from John Cumbelich & Associates and past trends.
Following drops in performance in 2020, occupancy levels in the Grand Lake and Rockridge submarkets increased last quarter and both experienced positive net absorption. Occupancy levels in Grand Lake, Rockridge and Montclair were all above 90%, at 94%, 96% and 91%, respectively. While these levels would be considered healthy for most retail markets during more prosperous times, these submarkets have seen occupancy levels exceeding 99% in recent years.
