The 0.8-acre lot is currently home to an IHOP at 707 E. Cesar Chavez St., which is surrounded by skyscrapers.  
The property has been owned by Nate Paul's World Class Holdings through an LLC since 2016. In recent years, the company has used a series of bankruptcy filings to stave off foreclosure.
Most recently, it was slated to go to auction on Dec. 2, 2025, but World Class' LLC filed a voluntary petition for Chapter 11 bankruptcy the day of the scheduled proceeding.

The project would involve turning a 220-acre parcel at 1051 County Road 401, directly northeast of Samsung Electronics Co.’s factory, into a data center campus that would include space for other uses.
Last year, KDC and Austin-based landowner Prophet Capital Management made a deal to develop 150 acres of the site. The developer will now go before local zoning officials to seek permission to move forward with its plans

The mixed-use development is conveniently located near Samsung Austin Semiconductor and other major tech employers in the area, including Dell, National Instruments, General Motors and Amazon.
At full build-out, it will have 400K SF of retail, restaurant and entertainment space, plus 1.5M SF of office space suitable for life sciences uses. Molecular diagnostics company BillionToOne has already signed on to occupy the first of six buildings at 220K SF, bringing 1,000 employees to EastVillage.

The mercurial billionaire posted on the X social media platform he will relocate SpaceX, the private space company Musk founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2002, from its longtime home state.
He also revealed plans to move the social media company formerly known as Twitter to Austin. 
The decision came, Musk wrote, after California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill that bans schools from telling parents about students receiving gender-affirming care.

The 10-megawatt battery storage facility is housed on the site of one of Prologis’ owner-occupied warehouses at 3601 Allen Ave. in Arlington. Two additional projects in Houston and Grand Prairie are scheduled to follow in the coming months, with a total of 10 sites deployed over a year.]]></content:encoded>
