Former Airport Control Tower Soon To Be A Punch Bowl Social Experiential Restaurant

Punch Bowl Social, a growing chain of experiential restaurants — complete with table and arcade games, karaoke and bowling to go with its scratch kitchens — is nearing completion on the redevelopment of the former Stapleton air traffic control tower in Denver. The company plans to open the location this summer. The redeveloped location will not only be a new 15K SF restaurant, but will also serve as the new corporate HQ (which will be in the tower itself).

The tower stood vacant for over 20 years until the city approached Punch Bowl Social founder and CEO Robert Thompson about revitalizing the remnant of the old airport. We spoke with Thompson about the project recently. (He will also be…

Strong Global Economy Outweighs Trump Uncertainty For CRE Outlook

Cushman & Wakefield's global chief economist, Kevin Thorpe, said synchronized economic growth worldwide is signaling continued strength ahead for the commercial real estate industry. "Build more," he advised those at a C&W State of Real Estate conference last week in Toronto.

“The demand for commercial real estate will remain healthy in most markets and most product types,” Thorpe said. “And I can say that with some degree of confidence because the world economy is already accelerating. In fact, there's never been a year when the global economy has grown and demand for commercial real estate space didn't also grow.”

Key JLL Investor Slams Company's Pay Practices, Says CEO's Package Is 'Wholly Inappropriate'

JLL's second-largest shareholder has asked analysts at a corporate governance analysis firm to review JLL's pay and corporate governance practices following an $11M compensation package given to outgoing CEO Colin Dyer.

In an email to Institutional Shareholder Services, which was published in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Generation Investment Management co-chief investment officer Mark Ferguson called the executive compensation section of JLL's proxy report a depressing read for shareholders.
