Time Warner Center Will Become Deutsche Bank Center After Headquarters Shuffle

The Time Warner Center is set to be renamed the Deutsche Bank Center following the massive lease the bank inked in the complex earlier this year.

Deutsche Bank took 1.1M SF at One Columbus Circle back in May, clearing it to leave its current headquarters at 60 Wall St. for the new digs in 2021. The lease, which means Deutsche is shrinking its presence in the city by 30%, was the second-largest of the year, according to Commercial Observer, which first reported the planned name change.

Related, Singapore’s GIC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority own the twin-spired building at the southwest corner of Central Park. The decision to move to One Columbus Circle followed a 16-month review. The bank had also been considering 50 Hudson Yards and Two World Trade Center for its new location.

Time Warner sold 1.3M SF of office space in the complex to Related Cos., which originally built the space for the cable giant, for $1.1B in 2014. The cable giant is moving to 30 Hudson Yards, also developed by Related. None of the office buildings in the megaproject on Manhattan's Far West Side have been renamed for their occupants.
