Kushner Changes PR Firm Amid Controversies

White House Senior Adviser Jared Kushner

Kushner Cos. is no longer represented by notable PR figure Risa Heller.

Heller represented the company with her firm, Heller Communications, for just over a year and a half before the two sides severed ties this week. Though the real estate company claims to have let her go through new representation, Politico reports that Heller dropped Kushner as a client.

Heller previously worked as a personal representative for both Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, but those relationships had previously been terminated, reportedly on good terms.

Through the last few months of Heller's relationship with Kushner, the company has been the subject of a lawsuit regarding misuse of affordable housing, an investigation over possible abuse of the EB-5 visa program, financing issues with 666 Fifth Ave. and issues that bleed into Jared Kushner's position at the White House.

As part of Robert Mueller's investigation into ties between President Donald Trump, his staff and Russia, transactions between Kushner and Russian oligarchs have come under scrutiny. More recently, and perhaps more problematically, Trump's comments in the wake of the violence in Charlottesville have caused a rapid dissociation of business executives from advisory positions at the White House. Heller declined to comment on the cause for the split.

Kushner Cos. has retained Finsbury Communications as its new PR representative.
