This Week's NY Deal Sheet

The architecture firm Gensler is heading to a new 120k SF home at 1700 Broadway, in a deal that’ll be good for 12 years.

The new space will be on the sixth through 12th floors, at an asking rent of $59/SF. CBRE’s Mary Ann Tighe, Ken Rapp, Timothy Dempsey and Sinclair Li repped Gensler, and Newmark Grubb Knight Frank’s David Falk and Peter Shimkin repped the landlord, Ruben Cos. With bigger blocks of space harder to come by in Midtown South, Gensler’s the second architecture firm to sign a big lease in the immediate area in the past month. (CookFox signed a 20k SF deal a couple of blocks away at 250 West 57th St.)

Namely signed a 10-year, 42k SF expansion lease, which almost doubles its footprint at 195 Broadway. CBRE’s Daniel Wilpon, Sinclair Li and Zac Price repped Namely.

Ratti USA / Marzotto Textiles USA signed a 31k SF lease at 8 West 38th St. Handler Real Estate’s Scott Galin and Darell Handler repped the tenant. ABS Partners’ Ronald Zimmerman and Andrew Udis repped the landlord, Fraglow Realty.

The fashion designer Tory Burch signed a 9k SF lease for a two-story retail space at 129 Fifth Ave. Cushman & Wakefield’s Laura Pomerantz repped the tenant. JLL’s Amy Zhen repped the landlord, Madison Realty Capital.

US Security Associates signed a 6,200 SF lease at 42 Broadway. LSL Advisors’ Michael Hymowitz repped the tenant. The Lawrence Group’s Brian Siegel repped the landlord, Cammeby’s International.

Three new tenants have leased space at One World Trade Center. Decryptex took 4,200 SF, and was repped by MB Real Estate’s Gere Ricker. Town Square Trading took 3,500 SF and was repped by CBRE’s Dan Wilpon, Sam Spillane and James Einstein. ValueWorks took 3k SF and was repped by CBRE’s Brad Needleman. The ownership, the Durst Organization and the Port Authority of NY & NJ, was repped by the Durst Organization’s Karen Kuznick and a Cushman & Wakefield team led by Tara Stacom.

Rice Cream Shoppe signed a 10-year, 1,650 SF lease at 195 Bleecker St. Eastern Consolidated’s James Famularo and Jeff Geoghegan repped the tenant. Buchbinder & Warren’s Matthew Olden and William Abramson repped the landlord, Celestial Seven.

Friedland Realty Advisors has named Paul Enea VP of client services. Enea joined Friedland 28 years ago as an office and industrial broker. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for locating and assessing industrial, office and investment properties for clients in Manhattan and suburban submarkets north of the city. Paul most recently served as the principal of YORK Real Estate Consulting Services, where he provided assistance throughout every phase of the acquisition/disposition, design, approval and construction processes for multiple clients.
