Ader Group Plans 474-Unit All-Affordable Development In The South Bronx

Placeholder

Ader Group is planning a 14-story affordable rental development in an industrial area of the South Bronx.

The 473k SF development at 1125 Whitlock Ave. would need a rezoning of its immediate area in the Longwood section of the borough, NY Yimby reports.

Plans call for a 9,500 SF community space, 15k SF of retail and a 69-space parking facility. Out of a total of 474 units, 95 would go to homeless families, and the rest would be spread across a spectrum of income ranges that are defined by the city as low to moderate, meaning the development won’t have any market-rate units.

Ground is set to break in June, and the doors of one of the two buildings are scheduled to open by June 2019. A second building is slated to open in 2021. [NYY]
