More than 50 CoreNet Houston members shed their ties and heels, grabbed some work boots and pitchforks, and donated their Saturday to make meaningful improvements to the Last Organic Outpost, a resource for locally grown food and an educational hub for schools in Houston's fifth ward. The project was a continuation of work CoreNet started last year.

Last Organic Outpost is now the only officially recognized educational farm in Houston. Just four days after the project, nearly 150 first- and second-graders from Mark Twain Elementary spent their morning learning about sustainable farming, produce and healthy eating.
