American Cities Are Booming—But Only For This Demographic

While Millennials at large don't want to be in the cities, there's one specific group that does: rich, white, young college grads without kids.

Housing researcher Jed Kolko says white 20- and 30-somethings with a four-year college degree, incomes in the top 40%, and no kids are moving back to the cities, The Atlantic reports.

The report reveals most US cities wouldn’t be growing if it weren’t for immigration, and the fastest-growing suburbs are the most prototypical: they have the lowest density, the greatest need for cars and the most single-family neighborhoods. [TheAtlantic]
