Trump Team Says President-Elect To Shut Down Dodd-Frank Act

President-elect Donald Trump is beginning to convert some of the populist rhetoric expressed on his campaign trail into policy, and high on his list of priorities—according to his transition website—is scrapping the Dodd-Frank Act.

Trump’s transition team says via the site that the regulations enacted to combat the financial crisis are allowing Wall Street banks to grow even bigger on the taxpayer’s dime. The team pledges to dismantle and replace it with regulations that will promote job growth and boost the economy, Bloomberg reports.

The transition site also touches on several other policies the GOP president-elect mentioned during his campaign, including his plan to call a temporary moratorium on new regulations so they can be reviewed. [Bloomberg]
