Companies Halt Plans To Move Abroad In Wake Of Trump’s Threats

Donald Trump’s deal with Carrier and subsequent threats are already having the desired effect as business leaders around the country are holding off on plans to outsource jobs.

Ross Baldwin from Tacna, a company that helps US firms set up manufacturing operations in Mexico, told Bloomberg three new clients put the brakes on outsourcing plans until Trump’s policies become clear. And Tacna’s story isn’t the outlier. Outsourcing firms all across the country are seeing clients pull away after Trump’s threats.

While not all companies are changing course, the public is on Trump’s side, with 74% of registered voters favoring raising taxes on US companies that fire American workers and set up shop elsewhere. [Bloomberg]
