Earlier this month Kushner Cos. came under fire for name-dropping Jared Kushner, son-in-law and senior adviser to President Donald Trump, during a pitch to Chinese investors in Beijing. It turns out another family member, Murray Kushner, Charles Kushner's brother and real estate rival, did something similar earlier this month.

In an attempt to secure funding for a Jersey City apartment project, Murray’s company, the Kushner Real Estate Group, told potential Chinese investors they could "work hand-in-hand with Trump son-in-law Kushner” if they invest in the 235 Grand St. apartment tower, Bloomberg reports. The company also touted pictures of Jared with the president, telling investors they could get a U.S. resident visa through the EB-5 program if they invested $500K into the project.

Spokesmen for both KRE and Kushner Cos. said neither Trump nor Jared have any involvement with the project, but that has not deterred critics from accusing Trump, the Kushners and their extended family members for using presidential ties to further their businesses.
