Ascent West Takes Dealmaking To A New Level

National Ascent

Want to get a jump-start on upcoming deals? Meet the major players at one of our upcoming national events!

You do not need Donald Trump to tell you how to master the art of the deal. Just make sure you are in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 24-26 for Ascent West, the exclusive retreat for real estate’s top owners, developers and investors under 45-ish.

Look at all the fun / deal-making opportunities you could have at Ascent

You cannot be there without an Ascent membership, though, and the window is closing fast on your chance to secure a spot in the real estate industry’s most prestigious invite-only community. (Do not be left out in the cold when the deals start flowing. Click here to apply to be considered for one of the remaining spots at Ascent West.)

The goal of Ascent West is deal generation. The 42-hour retreat has been strategically designed to facilitate connections between current and prospective partners, and ultimately to get deals done.

There are 40 local cocktails, dinners and other experiential events to gather the Ascent community across the country this year. Ascent East, the second biannual national retreat, takes place Nov. 8-10 in Miami.

Ascent activities are aimed at creating bonds via shared experiences—not your typical networking fare.

Before the retreat, the Ascent team works tirelessly to determine your needs and objectives; it then identifies the right people for you to meet at the event and helps to facilitate organic connections with them.

“It was a great conference and we could see how much effort you put into it,” said Zeller Realty president Ari Glass, a 2015 Ascent attendee. “We had great interactions and had a chance to set up ongoing dialogues.”

Ascent activities are aimed at creating bonds via shared experiences — not your typical networking fare. Think art walks, wine-tasting, mindfulness sessions and SoulCycle, among other exciting pursuits. We have even taken our more adventurous members on skydiving and exotic race car driving excursions.

Ascent members on an art walk, one of the many activities on offer at this unique event.

Members can also connect via Ascent’s proprietary mobile app, which offers access to the top players in local markets and nationally on a single, seamless platform. Think of it as Tinder for equity investors and sponsors.

Ascent membership is exclusive, limited to the top 400 individuals from the nation’s top equity investors, operators and developers.

Our members work in institutional private equity, development (for both local and national companies), and in acquisition and deal generation. Our members are professionals being groomed to take over, or are already responsible for, family offices. Our ranks also include young founders and entrepreneurs within the real estate sphere.

Sean Dalfen of Dalfen America, an Ascent deal-maker

Deals get done at Ascent.

Just ask Dalfen Group’s Sean Dalfen, who over the past two years has closed close to 3M SF of deals with partners he met at Ascent and its sister event, Escape (2.1M SF in Ohio and 800K SF in south Texas).

Ascent is unlike any other real estate event you have been to. There are no panels of prognosticators pedaling market projections. Instead, the event focuses on idea-generating content in the spirit of TED talks, the Aspen Ideas Festival and Davos Economic Forum.

Ascent is strategically designed to facilitate connections between partners and ultimately to get deals done.

Past speakers at Ascent include Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, Shark Tank shark Robert Herjavec, relationship expert and TED MainStage speaker Esther Perel, and geopolitical strategist and author of “The Next Hundred Years” George Friedman.

“It was one of the best events I have attended, and you clearly have created something very unique,” said Orca Capital’s Ariel Shtarkman, a 2015 Ascent participant. “I am totally sold and looking forward to next time.”

Do not miss out on your chance to get deals done — and savor a bit of adventure and killer food along the way.
