Plans Revealed For Proposed Arts District Office Building

A proposal to build a new mid-rise office building in the Arts District is scheduled to go before the Downtown LA Neighborhood Council's Planning and Land Use Committee today.

Lowe Enterprises is developing the project at 2130 East Violet Ave.

The nine-story building would include 90,700 SF of office space, 6,100 SF of ground-floor retail and a 274-car garage, according to Urbanize LA.

Lowe Enterprises wants to change the property, which is developed for industrial use without sidewalks or shrubbery.

The office space on the 108-foot-tall building's higher levels would feature concrete columns and balconies with metal cable railings, according to designs by Dallas' Humphreys & Partners Architects.

The project must be approved by the city before it can be built. [ULA]
