A Look At Circa In DTLA

Circa, the $500M mixed-use project, is shaping up as it heads to its finish.

Construction has progressed to the 18th floor on Harley Ellis Devereaux’s 36-story Circa project at 1200 South Figueroa in DTLA, HED business development guru Roy Reel (here in the Galapagos Islands with his wife, Patricia) tells Bisnow.

The Jamison Services development will consist of 648 apartments and 48k SF of commercial space.

Twin 35-story towers rise above the eight-level podium clad with glass and electronic signage.

There will also be above-grade and below-grade parking for 1,700 cars.

Each building features elliptical floor plates inspired by Staples Center, Roy says.

Lendlease is the project’s general contractor.

Circa is scheduled to be completed in 2018.

Roy says HED has been chosen by the Wincome Group as the executive architect for Anaheim's Anabella Resort Hotel (above).

The eight-story, 634-key complex on Katella Avenue is across from Disneyland and next door to the Anaheim Convention Center.

Slated to be one of Orange County’s four-diamond hotels, it features 42k SF of banquet and meeting space, 31k SF of restaurant and meeting facilities, and a spa and fitness center.

HED was selected earlier this year by Hilton Universal to design its new 18-story, 412-key hotel on Universal Hollywood Drive in Universal City.

HED studio leader Jerome "Otis" Odell will lead both projects from design development to completion.
