It's go time for One Beverly Hills.

The Beverly Hills City Council voted overwhelmingly Tuesday in favor of the project.

The $1.2B development, which will consist of a 134-room hotel and 193 luxury condos, was approved by a vote of 4-1, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Beverly Hills Mayor John Mirisch tells Bisnow the project is "great for our community" and will "add another jewel to our city’s unique assemblage of world-class hotels."

The two towers that will make up The Wanda Group's One Beverly Hills will be at the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica boulevards.

Wanda Group deputy GM Rohan a'Beckett said the firm is "extremely excited" to finally start construction on One Beverly Hills.

However, Beny Alagem, who is building LA's first Waldorf Astoria next door, could challenge the city council's approval of the Wanda Group's project.

Beverly Hills residents voted down a ballot measure last month that would have allowed Beny to merge two approved towers into one 26-story tower adjacent to the Hilton. [HR]
