12311 West Santa Monica Blvd. in LA could become a boutique hotel.

A former retirement community at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Wellesley Avenue may soon give way to a boutique hotel.

Plans were filed with the LA Planning Department to build an 88-room, 32,594 SF hotel at the site of the 140-unit Brentwood Manor Retirement Residence at 12311 West Santa Monica Blvd.

The project would also include about 500 SF of retail space on the ground floor.

The applicant listed on the plans is a developer with ties to real estate developer Lewis Wolff, The Real Deal reports.

Wolff was the majority owner of the Oakland Athletics until late last year.

The property was acquired last month for $18.1M by a Wolff affiliate.

Wolff Urban Development owns the Burbank Hilton and the Fairmont Santa Monica.
