Fisker Automotive and Technology Group has signed a long-term lease to occupy a new 555k SF industrial building in Moreno Valley, where it will manufacture its ultra-luxury, plug-in electric hybrid Karma sports car. Fisker was repped by Colliers EVP Ian DeVries (here at the top of Haleakala, Maui), who says this is an important and valuable victory for all of California to see manufacturing coming back to the state. Colliers associate Chris DeVries also repped Fisker, while landlord First Industrial Realty was repped by Ian and Colliers EVP Kevin McKenna.

Fisker’s decision to locate its manufacturing in the region is the first time an automaker will operate an assembly plant in Southern California since 1992, when General Motors closed its Van Nuys facility. The building at 17100 Perris Blvd, which First Industrial built spec, will bring about 150 high-skilled jobs to the area.

This is just the latest victory for Moreno Valley, which has been surging (as has the whole IE). Corporate neighbors in Moreno Valley for Fisker include Amazon and Procter & Gamble, which both signed long-term leases in the past few years.
