Plans Underway For $20M Construction Project at Long Beach City College

Long Beach City College officially broke ground last week on a $20M project to build a new building and renovate an existing one.

As part of the development, an electrical program will be upgraded and housed in both buildings, known as QQ and RR.

Building QQ also will house the college's Lifetime Learning Center, which focuses on providing educational opportunities for older people trying to get back into the workforce, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

Measure E bonds are expected to pay for the project. The funds have been used at the college for renovation, construction and repair projects, totaling $616M.

The new project is scheduled to be completed next year. [LBPT]
