New Holborn Multifamily Development Targets Lawyers

Placeholder

While some multifamily developers are going after Millennials or creatives, Sons & Co is targeting a different demographic: lawyers.

Pinks Mews is a gated development comprising 35 luxury apartments and duplexes set in a secluded private mews in the centre of Holborn—London’s historical legal core.

The community occupies a Victorian building tucked away on a private lane near Gray’s Inn and Lincoln’s Inn as well as several flashy professional services and law firms like Bird & Bird and Hogan Lovells, Deloitte and Macfarlanes. Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the largest public garden in London, is just a short walk away. It’s also a stone’s throw from Chancery Lane tube station, making it primed to take full advantage of the arrival of Crossrail in 2018.

Legal eagles can expect to shell out about £995k for a 522 SF one-bedroom apartment at Pinks Mews. And if you’re a fancy-pants lawyer who requires a bit more space, a three-bedroom duplex penthouse will set you back £2.8M. But it’s money well spent. Sons & Co says Pink Mews has “all the mod-cons any aspirational barrister or solicitor can expect, such as a bespoke kitchens, marble bathrooms and concierge.”

Pinks Mews takes its name from the red jackets—known as “hunting pinks”—traditionally worn on foxhunts. Historically, the jacket’s bright red colour has been produced from the pigment of the Madder plant, a plant that was regularly used by the textile workers in the Dyers Building—the site on which the Pinks Mews buildings are being developed.
