Ecotricity unveiled two concepts for its new creative hub where green businesses and technology companies can collaborate and perform research to take the green industrial revolution to the next level.

Eco Park is a 100-acre sports and green technology centre at Junction 13 on the M5 with 50 acres dedicated to creating state-of-the-art sporting facilities. In addition to the stadium, it will include training fields, 4G pitches, multi-disciplinary sporting facilities and a sports science hub. The initial plan by Zaha Hadid Architects also includes public access to a wide variety of health and leisure activities, allowing people in the Stroud District and beyond to use the facilities and equipment. The other 50 acres will accommodate an office park that will create up to 4,000 jobs.

Ecotricity applied to Stroud District Council for outline planning permission for the Eco Park development, which the company hopes will be granted in the next few months. A decision on the final design on the green technology hub will be made at the time of the full planning application.
