The largest office leasing deal so far in London this year wasn’t in the City or the West End or even a growing area like King’s Cross, but in White City.

Advertising agency Publicis is taking 212K SF at the 2.3M SF Television Centre, the redevelopment of the former BBC facility being undertaken by Stanhope, Mitsui Fudosan and Aimco.

Publicis will take seven floors at the 2 Television Centre building, with each of its six brands having a separate floor.

Neighbours at the development include the BBC who have three working studios on the historic site and ITV Studios who broadcast daytime TV from Television Centre. It is also the headquarters of both The White Co. and BBC Worldwide, and features 432 residential apartments in the first phase and the newly opened Soho House club, White City House and its 45-bedroom hotel.

“We have considered this move long and hard and really believe that in these transformational times we need to make transformational decisions,” Publicis Media U.K. Chief Executive Sue Frogley said.

CBRE acted for Publicis Media and Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield for Stanhope.
