Principal Hayley Group revealed Phase 1 of its £6M refurbishment of Wotton House. The property has completed almost half of its bedroom renovations, as well as the first bedroom suite, the Jasmine Suite, in the Mansion House (shown below).

The redesign is part of the group’s wider multimillion-pound renovation project across its country estate hotels portfolio. The investment includes the addition of outdoor dining and sculpture parks to a number of properties, making the great outdoors an extension of the hotel.

Surrey-based artist Emma Stothard has also been commissioned to create a number of new sculptures inspired by nature. Emma’s other work includes a willow sculpture for HRH the Prince of Wales, set within the grounds of Highgrove.

Future phases of the refurbishment will include the addition of 16 suites, bringing the total number of rooms to 127, all of which will feature en-suites and views of either the beautiful gardens or the dramatic manor house entrance. There will also be a full overhaul of all public areas, bedrooms, the restaurant and bar, flexible meeting spaces and the Old Library, which is popular for weddings and private dining.

The 17th century manor house was originally a family home. In 2003, Principal Haley Group snapped it up to run it as a hotel.
