We went to Dupont to check out the re-opening of The Gryphon. The exuberant space boasts two bars, each with large TVs, and it was packed for the World Cup. It has a revamped menu created by Chef Joseph Evans, who also oversees Lost Society. We snapped the Raw Bar, which serves a large variety of oysters, clams, shrimp, mussels, and lobster.
This is no ordinary bar food. While you can order dinner portions, we liked the social plates for sharing: lots of steaks, lamb, pork, fish, veggies, and salads. Here, a few of the many delish treats we ate: an endive salad, kale, cauliflower, and octopus. We washed it down with a yummy Artemis Vertue: Henrick’s gin, lime juice, cucumber, mint, sweet vermouth, agave nectar, and a splash of soda.
