Renderings Revealed for St. Elizabeths East First Phase
The master development team for St. Elizabeths East has revealed plans for the first phase of the expansive project.
DC-based Redbrick LMD and Gragg Cardona Partners have revealed that the first phase of the 183-acre project will be limited to the 15 acres nearest the Congress Heights Metro station. Plans call for a 171k SF office building with 47k SF of integrated retail, 250 mixed-income apartments, 60 townhomes, 100 underground parking spaces and a retail courtyard. The $55M, 5,000-seat complex for the Wizards and Mystics is also part of Phase 1 but will be developed separately.
Plans for the first phase were presented last week to a Ward 8 advisory neighborhood commission. The total St. Elizabeths East project will eventually bring 1.8M SF of offices, 206k SF of retail, 1,300 residential units and at least two hotels to Congress Heights. [WBJ]
