D.C. To Seek Developers For 2 East-Of-The-River Sites
Two new development opportunities are coming to market in D.C.'s east-of-the-river neighborhoods.
The larger of the two sites is a 32K SF lot at the intersection of 58th and Dix streets NE. The property is zoned MU-4, allowing mixed-use development up to 50 feet tall. The site is near Ward 7's Deanwood neighborhood, an area with several developments underway.
The smaller site is a 15K SF lot at V and W streets SE in Ward 8's Anacostia neighborhood. The site is zoned R-3, and DHCD said it can accommodate three single-family homes. DHCD is also selling two renovated homes in Anacostia.
The RFPs are expected to be released this month, a DHCD spokesperson said. They will be issued under the new priority rules D.C. released in July that are aimed at improving the equity of the companies that benefit from the city's development deals.
“We know that each new project here in the District brings the potential for new opportunity and housing, and we’re not letting any land go to waste,” Bowser said in a release. “We look forward to working with our community partners on putting these lots into the best use and helping families move into beautiful, affordable homes in historic Anacostia.”
