Michael Dell Buys Millennium Tower Condo
Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell ponied up $10.9M for a penthouse condo at the brand spanking new Millennium Tower in Downtown Crossing, along with two parking spaces. It's a complicated ownership structure, reports the Boston Business Journal: MT PH4B LLC bought the property. It in turn is registered to one Marc R. Lisker, a partner at New York-based MSD Capital. That's an investment firm that does nothing but manage the enormous funds of Michael Dell and his family.
The acquisition comes on the heels of Dell completing its absorption of Hopkinton-based EMC Corp for a cool $58B. Dell EMC (one of the group of businesses resulting from the deal) has about 9,000 employees in Massachusetts. Michael Dell reportedly will maintain his primary residence in Austin. [BBJ]
