A medical office building, anchored by a diagnostic imaging center and ambulatory surgery center, is headed to Sugar Land

D’Agostino Cos. will break ground in April on a 39K SF building at 6921 Brisbane Court within the Telfair master-planned community. The firm acquired the 2.8-acre site in December.

Transwestern's Justin Brasell and Christian Connell will lease the building. The three-story facility is 50% pre-leased. Tenants will be moving in before year-end.

“Sugar Land continues to be home to a very entrepreneurial physician base,” Brasell said. “We are excited to be a part of a project where tenants may participate in ownership of the building, offering them and their families a real estate investment in a strong market.”

Browne McGregor Architects designed the building, and Arch-Con Construction will serve as the general contractor.

The medical office sector remains the fastest-growing commercial real estate sector in the U.S., according to Colliers' year-end healthcare report. The overall MOB vacancy in Houston stands at 12.3% in 2018, up from 11.8% in 2017. Healthcare development has been active in suburban areas such as Sugar Land, The Woodlands and Katy

The robust fundamentals show that the city's healthcare sector is strong, mostly driven by the strength and expansion of the mothership, the Texas Medical Center
