Wood Partners has broken ground on a residential development called Alta Med Main in the Texas Medical Center.

Alta Med Main will feature 338 units with one- and two-bedroom floor plans and a structured parking garage with direct building access.

On-site amenities will include a clubroom, a Sky Lounge, a business center with micro-offices and communal work areas, a fitness center, a resort-style pool, a courtyard, a dog park and pet washing stations.

The project at 9330 Main St. will be adjacent to the TMC3 project, a 30-acre mixed-use healthcare/medical research campus that will feature four academic institutions, a 410-room hotel and conference center, office space, restaurants and other commercial uses.

“Alta Med Main is poised to benefit from Houston’s ever-expanding Texas Medical Center,” Wood Partners Houston Office Managing Director Bart Barrett said in a release. “This is a key location that grants our residents access to high-paying, competitive careers, and all that Houston’s nightlife and cultural scenes have to offer.”

Atlanta-based Wood Partners has completed other Alta-branded residential communities in Houston, including City West, Crossing, Gardens, Lofts at Hermann Park, Pine Forest, Royal Oaks and West End.

The company has completed more than 73,000 multifamily units valued at more than $12.8B nationwide, according to the release. It owns 70 properties totaling more than 20,000 units in 18 U.S. markets.
