MD Anderson is set to break ground on its new building in the Energy Corridor this year. The 170k SF facility will merge its three West Houston operations that include clinical offices, lab/imaging services and supportive care, according to the Houston Business Journal.

The new campus will sit on 35 acres that were purchased for $34M from Central Park West, an affiliate of Wolff Cos. It's expected to complete in 2018 and will be MD Anderson’s first stand-alone campus outside the Medical Center.

According to MD Anderson executive director Kent Postma, the different services will begin moving into the new center between 2018 and 2022 as their respective leases at their current locations expire.
