7 Projects In The Hot Westheimer Corridor
Westheimer continues to be a hot spot for mixed-use, multifamily and office development. We've compiled seven new projects worth checking out next time you're out on the town.
Westcreek Centre
The new 21-story, 368k SF tower is between San Felipe and Westheimer. Dallas-based Peloton Commercial Real Estate is developing the building, which was slated to break ground in 2014 but hasn't started yet. Westcreek Centre will include 14 floors of office and seven floors of parking. The architect is Boca Powell.
The Wilshire at River Oaks
Pelican Builders' 17-story, luxury condo tower boasts amenities galore, including balconies with views of the Houston skyline, high-end finishes and 24-hour concierge service. Designed by Kirksey, the project features 96 units and is set to deliver in 2017.
4444 Westheimer
While this blockbuster project delivered in River Oaks District last year, companies are still chomping at the bit to lease space in the new mixed-use development. Arch-Con completed 35k SF for US Capital Advisors and is already working on a 15k SF expansion for the firm. Equinox, a full-service fitness club out of New York recently opened a swanky 33k SF center with space for cycling, Barre, Pilates and yoga.
8989 Westheimer
OrangeStone Capital closed on 8989 Westheimer and has big plans to redevelop the building by the end of 2016. Despite a challenging acquisition, OrangeStone was able to close within 60 days. The firm is still deciding what to put on the three-acre site, since it can accommodate multiple uses.
Holiday Inn Express
A new Holiday Inn Express broke ground on the southwest corner of Westheimer and Hayes. The 127-room hotel is being developed by Pika Hotels and will feature a private upper-level outdoor pool, a 600 SF fitness center and a secured-entry parking garage. The hotel is slated to open in summer 2017.
Crest at Fondren
Scheduled for completion in 2016, Crest at Fondren is a new apartment development by Lennar Multifamily Communities. The project is under construction on Westheimer and will feature units for lease ranging from $1,310 to $2,395. GDA Architects is the architect on the project along with interior designer Hue Design.
Country Inn & Suites by Carlson
Construction is complete on Country Inn & Suites by Carlson, on Hayes Road, and the 71-room hotel has opened its doors to guests. The hotel features a fitness center, a meeting room, an outdoor pool, a veranda and shuttle service. The chain also has a location on JFK Boulevard by IAH Airport.
