655 Madison Avenue is an elegant steel and glass building, located on the NE corner of Madison Avenue & 60th Street. Developed in 1951, the building underwent an extensive renovation, by Swanke Hayden and Connel in 2008, that included recladding of the exterior facade, a sleek modern lobby and upgraded building systems. The building itself is situated literal steps from Central Park, access to major subway lines and some of New York’s best dining venues.

Why This Matters

This year the commercial real estate industry saw a major shakeup as a result of the new Housing Stability and Tenant Protections Act of 2019.

Many are still reacting to the details of the law and how it will impact their business. The rent regs bill follows on the heels Amazon's departure from Long Island City. Some have suggested that these two events are a warning sign that New York will be seen as having an anti-business environment.

How do experts think 2020 will pan out? What trends are they betting on and what markets are they zeroing in on? Find out all this and more as we close out 2019 with our New York 2020 Forecast.
