Event Summary

Join us in August for our Workplace of the Future 2018 event

to deep dive into Houston's mega office market! We'll be talking about investment activity, red-hot developments, and how co-working is penetrating and disrupting the office landscape. Over a fifth of Houston office space sits empty - which is the highest rate among the nation's 20 biggest cities.

On top of that, Colliers recorded a negative absorption of

1.5 million SF of office space in Houston. These are hard facts to face,

but the good news is, Houston will be hitting an upswing - it's just a matter of time. Investors sure are recognizing the inherent value. Edward Griffin, President of Griffin Partners, joins us to talk about the 3-building office complex acquired Uptown. With competition high, co-working, and creative spaces on the rise, landlords have to be more diligent

- and 2017 showed just that. It was a tenant year: low rent, freebies, and high IT allowances put the ball in the tenant's court. But, with the office market potential looking up, how can we WIN BIG in 2018? We're honored to welcome Skanska's Matthew Damborsky who will be talking tech, modernization, and sustainable workplaces.

We'll also be diving deep into disruptive tech and

design trends, market forecasts, the co-working boom, and new developments revolutionizing office space across Houston. Join us at another top-notch Bisnow event. As always, we'll have breakfast, fresh coffee, and plenty of time for

networking. You won't want to miss this!

1. After Harvey, Downtown office space displayed tremendous resilience and remained Houston's most attractive and competitive submarket in the region. How is Uptown, and other submarkets competing to attract new tenants?

2. What will Houston’s office market look like in 20 years? What is the role of tech in redefining the workplace and retaining tenants?

3. What is in store for Houston’s next big office deal? Which big tenants are looking to move in?

4. Skanska's Capitol Tower has Class-A, high-quality, modern, and energy-efficient office space embodying the workplace of the future. How are new buildings following this example, and how are older ones keeping up with forward-thinking developments?

5. With minimal barriers to entry, how are WeWork, The Work Well, Station Houston and other coworking spaces disrupting the traditional office market?

6. How can landlords future-proof a workplace for a growing company to ensure the company does not outgrow their space?

7. Compared to 5 years ago, what are the trends for tenants in today's market? Are these demands consistent between tenant types (ie. FIRE & TAMI)?
