WHY THIS MATTERS

What You'll Learn:

  • How has the pandemic transformed the way we develop and operate healthcare facilities and medical office buildings?
  • How will telemedicine continue to change Chicagoland’s healthcare industry moving forward?
  • With new zoning regulations supporting the Illinois Medical District as an innovation hub, what impact will this have on developing the surrounding community into a live, work, play environment?
  • Between the Bronzeville Lakefront, Lincoln Yards, the 78, and the Illinois Science and Technology Park, there is significant square footage being devoted to lab and research space. How will that change the landscape of Chicago?
  • How are companies choosing their market locations and what can Chicago do to poise itself as an emerging life sciences hub?
  • How is the Chicagoland life sciences sector being positioned for inclusive growth, including expanding the talent pool, connecting with surrounding health and educational entities, and positioning developments for continued company expansion?
  • There have been a number of office-to-lab space conversions in Chicagoland. What are the upsides and the challenges? Are there other asset types that are being eyed for lab space conversions? Do tenants prefer ground up new developments, or converted lab space?
  • What are the current best practices for the development, design, and construction of life sciences buildings?
