CareChoice Buys Rathfarnham Nursing Home — Its Third Acquisition Since Being Bought By Infravia

Nursing home operator CareChoice has announced its third acquisition since being bought by French investment fund Infravia in June 2017 for €60M.

The company said it has agreed  to buy The Marlay, a modern, purpose-built 124-bed nursing home in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14 that opened in 2006.

The deal was done off-market and no purchase price has been disclosed, but one industry expert said it is likely to have achieved well over €25M.

The acquisition brings the CareChoice portfolio to nine nursing homes with 833 long-term residential care beds.

CareChoice bought the 117-bed Knightsbridge Care Village in Trim, County Meath at the end of last year and the 89-bed Ardmore Lodge in Finglas, Dublin 5, in April of this year.

“The addition of The Marlay is an excellent fit to our growing portfolio and further demonstrates our focus to provide the highest quality of nursing home care in Ireland,” CareChoice Group Chief Executive Noel Boyle said.
