Colorado Native Ziggi's Coffee Primed To Go National

Northern Colorado-based Ziggi's Coffee, which has eight stores in that part of the state and metro Denver, is rolling out another seven locations in the near future, mostly in-state. The move comes about a year after founders Brandon and Camrin Knudsen announced plans to franchise the brand.

"Ziggi’s Coffee has experienced a high level of franchisee interest,” said CBRE's Steve Stoecker, in the Fort Collins office.

Along with colleague Annah Moore, Stoecker is representing Ziggi’s Coffee in its expansion. Coffee drinkers are looking for sustainably sourced ingredients and fast service, he said.

Current Ziggi’s Coffee locations include stores in Henderson, Firestone, Lakewood, Westminster and four locations in Longmont. The first franchise is on schedule to open in Loveland this fall.

Two other franchisees have properties under contract in Fort Collins and Greeley, and a third is exploring options in Windsor. In July, the company awarded a new franchise agreement to open a store in Hudson, Colorado, and is also planning to bring Ziggi’s Coffee to other states.

The Knudsens started Ziggi’s Coffee in 2004, beginning with one store on Main Street in Downtown Longmont. Now the company offers three franchise business models: a coffeehouse, a coffeehouse with a drive-thru and a double-sided drive-thru.

“The ideal site for a Ziggi’s Coffee is around one-third to three-quarters of an acre located in a community-focused area," Moore said. "Visibility and accessibility to neighbors is key."
