A Denver-based multifamily real estate investment company paid $100.5M for The Huron, a 296-unit apartment building near Coors Field in the Union Station North neighborhood.

Griffis Residential acquired the property from Columbus, Ohio-based developer Edwards Cos., which purchased the land several years ago in a transaction brokered by the ARA Newmark land team, which also represented the company in the sale of the developed property.

The Huron's amenities include a resort-style swimming and wading pool and an off-leash dog park.

“This was a full-circle deal for ARA Newmark — in 2012, Chris Cowan and Steve O’Dell sold the site to the developer,” ARA Newmark Vice Chairman Shane Ozment said. “Once the project was constructed, our institutional brokerage team marketed the property and identified the best buyer.”

Built in 2016, the property’s amenities include a lounge with a tech bar, three theater-screening rooms, a fitness center, controlled access and concierge service.

Residents can walk out the front door to bars, restaurants and Coors Field. The building is just blocks from Union Station and a recently announced mixed-use development that will include a Rockies Hall of Fame, an outdoor public gathering area, a hotel and office space. That project is expected to break ground in 2018, transforming a nearby parking lot into a multistoried commerce and entertainment destination.
