What's Up With That Site Lincoln Property Will Lease For H-E-B?

The mystery of the six former Mynard Sun Fresh stores acquired by H-E-B, the parent company of Central Market, in August has become clearer—slightly.

The grocery giant will turn two of the six stores into Central Markets: the Northwest Highway and Midway Road location and the Uptown location at Lemmon and McKinney avenues.

Residents in the surrounding areas of the remaining sites at Hardin Boulevard and El Dorado Parkway in McKinney; Highway 121 and Hall Johnson Road in Grapevine; Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road in Dallas; and Northwest Highway and Ferndale Road in Dallas will have to drive elsewhere to stock up on those delicious fresh tortillas as the grocer will sell or lease the remaining sites

Lincoln Property will lease the site on Mockingbird and Abrams in Lakewood, both H-E-B and LPC EVP Robert Dozier confirmed.

Robert tells us his team's looking at its options for the site. There are many interested tenants, but LPC has yet to make any definitive decisions.

H-E-B spokeswoman Mabrie Jackson insists the grocer will be hands-off for the site. "We have no obligation or responsibility on the property. We are not party to any of their tenant selection or future configuration of the space," she tells us.

Although Robert was mum on what types of tenants are interested in the space, it's unlikely it would remain a grocery store because there's already a Tom Thumb at the intersection.

The Lakewood Sun Fresh closed on Sept. 1.
