Hot 'Hoods: Preston Hollow
The neighborhood of Preston Hollow started out as its own city before its residents voted to join the City of Dallas in 1945. Big names like Henry S. Miller, John Stemmons and Woodall Rogers were huge advocates of getting the prime real estate and upscale houses of Preston Hollow into the Big D.
75k SF of retail space, anchored by a Trader Joe's, and 60k SF of boutique office space later, and Preston Hollow is no longer a place for affluent homeowners only. And that's just the first of five phases within the 42 acres at Preston Hollow Village.
At build-out, the project will have 1,200 units of multifamily, 140 townhouses, and 300k SF of retail and office. The Office of James Burnet designed a three-acre park within the master planned development that focuses on the renter-by-choice demographic.
Phase 2 broke ground on three seven-story multifamily buildings containing 512 units in 2015.
Transwestern's high-end apartment complex The Laurel (above) will open in fall 2017 with 164 units at Preston Road and Northwest Highway.
The new multifamily and retail pipeline coupled with the office market at Preston Center covers all the bases for a live/work/play neighborhood.
