Alamo Drafthouse To Anchor The Hub At Frisco Station

The Hub at Frisco Station has its anchor: Alamo Drafthouse. The Alamo Drafthouse Frisco, the chain's seventh North Texas location, will have eight screens and seating for 1,200 guests. It will open in 2020 and include Alamo's second Video Vortex.

Alamo Drafthouse chooses its North Texas locations with an eye to incentives and a nice distance between locations so there is no cannibalization of customers.

Video Vortex is a sort of reimagining of classic video rental stores — it is a bar concept where patrons can rent VHS tapes and VCRs. This location will be the second for the brand (the first opened in Raleigh, North Carolina, earlier this year) and the first in Texas. It will also have a Mondo store with movie-related paraphernalia.

Frisco Station is a 242-acre mixed-use development by Frisco Station Partnership — which includes The Rudman Partnership, Hillwood and VanTrust Real Estate — at the northwest corner of Warren Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. The Hub will be its entertainment district. Retail anchors have been increasingly shifting to entertainment uses as landlords look to create destinations that draw in consumers who can do much of their shopping online.

SRS Real Estate Partners' Tyler Isbell represented Alamo Drafthouse Cinema DFW in the lease with Hillwood.
