GI Partners Snaps Up Plano Data Center Campus

GI Partners has acquired the 1M SF 2300 West Plano Parkway data center campus from NTT Data for an unspecified price. NTT will lease back the campus from the new owner.

The Plano property includes two data center facilities, office space and an expandable on-site substation, which offers better power rates and further data center development, according to GI Partners.

"We look forward to continuing our relationship with NTT Data and expanding our data center footprint in the Metroplex, which continues to be a very attractive market with increasingly attractive demand prospects," GI Partners Director Mike Armstrong said in a statement.

Last year, San Francisco-based investor GI Partners acquired the Ericsson ICT data center in Montreal for an estimated $1B, and it also owns data centers in California, Colorado, New Jersey, Texas and Washington state.

As part of the latest deal, GI Partners also acquired a data center in Quincy, Massachusetts, from NTT Data, which is a subsidiary of tech giant Nippon Telegraph & Telephone.

NTT Data still has a significant presence in Plano. In 2017, it inked a 10-year lease for 41% of the office development One Legacy West and later took additional space at that property.
