When the Cubs return to Wrigley Field in 69 days for their home opener, they will be greeted by two stories of tacos across the street. One Off Hospitality will open Big Star Wrigleyville, an offshoot of the restaurant group's popular Wicker Park taco joint, inside the Hotel Zachary in time for the new baseball season.

Big Star Wrigleyville will encompass 9K SF across two floors. The main room will feature seating for 383 guests, and an 87-seat rooftop patio will overlook the Friendly Confines. One Off partner Terry Alexander said the new location is bringing "Wicker Park soul" to Wrigleyville — the Hotel Zachary outpost will incorporate several design elements from Big Star's Wicker Park location. One new design element at Big Star Wrigleyville is the addition of eight retractable big-screen TVs, for prime-time game viewing. Big Star Wrigleyville will also double as a performance space, showcasing live music throughout the year.

One Off Executive Chef/partner Paul Kahan said Big Star Wrigleyville's focus will be on serving as many guests as possible while still retaining Big Star's focus on locally sourced ingredients, which will stand out among the hot dogs and hot wings restaurants surrounding Wrigley Field. Alexander said One Off expects Big Star Wrigleyville to be just as lively in the dead of winter as in the middle of the baseball season.

Hickory Street Capital, the development firm established by the Cubs' majority owners, the Ricketts family, topped off the Hotel Zachary last May. Hickory Street Capital Vice President Eric Nordness said he believes Wrigleyville's dense population base will make the restaurants the Hotel Zachary will call home successful, year-round destinations for both visitors and tourists.
