Kinzie Real Estate is coming to the aid of a woman injured during a freak accident in August. Tierney Darden, 24, of Mundelein (pictured) was returning from a family trip to Minneapolis and sought shelter from a fierce storm at a bus shelter at O'Hare International Airport. The shelter collapsed on top of Tierney, who was paralyzed from the waist down.

Tierney underwent surgery to repair dislocated vertebrae, but her family believes the aspiring dancer will be paralyzed for life and filed a lawsuit against the city and the Chicago Department of AviationA GoFundMe page has raised over $20k for Tierney's rehabilitation efforts. Kinzie is helping out by donating time and building resources, and managing volunteers, to renovate a home to be ADA compliant for Tierney.

Kinzie Group principal Steve Spinell says helping Tierney's family find and renovate a home to meet her needs was a natural thing for the firm to do. Kinzie has also made a monetary donation to Tierney's GoFundMe page.
