The Rookery's two-story lobby, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is one of several historic architectural elements preserved inside the building.

Transwestern has been named as the exclusive leasing agent for the historic Rookery Building at 209 South LaSalle, in the heart of the Central Loop/Financial District. The 12-story building, designed and built by Daniel Burnham and John Wellborn Root in 1888, is considered to be the oldest free-standing high-rise in Chicago.

The Rookery may be best known for its two-story skylit lobby, which was redesigned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905. Last year, the owner, S. Boehme & Co., gave the Rookery major upgrades to its amenities package that incorporated the building's historic touches. The historic Burnham & Root library where the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition was planned is now the building’s executive boardroom. A bike room was installed, restrooms now have hotel-grade finishes, elevators were modernized and an LED lighting project capped off a full-scale renovation of the building's exterior.

Eric Myers, Jeff Dowdell and Courtney Rosoff will serve as leasing agents.
