Logan Square Twin Towers Project Gets OK

Placeholder

Permits were issued for the long-embattled twin residential mid-rise towers project in Logan Square. The buildings, an 11-story tower at 2210 N Washtenaw and a 12-story structure at 2733 W Belden, received approval from the City Plan Commission in April.

Local residents have opposed the project, and other multifamily developments in Logan Square, based on their size, a lack of affordable housing, and increased congestion related to the project. Developer Robert Buono originally intended one of the towers to be 15 stories. The project calls for 213 apartments, 98 parking spaces and 9k SF of retail.

The permits were issued in late September. Ald. Joe Moreno (1st) said groundbreaking was expected this month.
