New Plans Unveiled for Logan Square Mega Mall Redevelopment

The developers behind the Logan Crossing development in Logan Square revealed a revamped design for the proposed project, after receiving feedback from neighborhood residents. Gone is the original glass and steel design of the development, replaced by red brick that would complement surrounding architecture.

The project on the site of the former Logan Square Mega Mall also has a smaller building footprint. The number of residential units was reduced from 267 to 240, while the height was scaled down to 83 feet. The project at 2500 N Milwaukee will also include retail space, a fitness center and rooftop pool, and a grocery store.

Logan Crossing's original plans were met with concerns from residents that its modern design didn't fit with the character of the existing surrounding architecture. Opponents have also called for more affordable housing in the project, and others slated for Logan Square. [DNA]
